FlareGet is a popular open-source internet download manager and accelerator for Linux systems. It has some great features such as browser integration and threading.
It supports Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 , Mac OS X 10.7+ and almost all 32 and 64 bit Debian, RPM and Pacman based Linux Distributions. The supported Linux Distributions include Ubuntu, Fedora, Mandriva, OpenSuse, LinuxMint, Arch Linux, Chakra Linux.
Install Flareget on Ubuntu
Follow the below steps
- Make sure your system packages are up-to-date by running the following command:
sudo apt update -y && sudo apt upgrade -y
NOTE: FlareGet is not available on Ubuntu base repository. So we will install FlareGet from its official web page as shown below:
- Then install it by running the command below:
sudo dpkg -i flareget_5.0-1_amd64.deb
- Open your browser then go to the FllareGet official website by clicking on the link below:
- You will be directed to the page below, so click on Download free as shown
- Then select the deb package which is for Ubuntu and Linux Mint and other Debian based dist.
- Once the package downloaded, go to download directory; the file downloaded in then install it with dpkg as shown below:
sudo dpkg -i flareget_5.0-1_amd64.deb
- Once installed, Access FlareGet through the command line by running the command
flareget
- Also you can search on the system search bar by typing flareget as follows
- FlareGet will be launched as shown below
